The Netherlands is the year’s 2014 partner country to the Hannover Messe. The Holland Smart City House is therefore the highlight of the Metropolitan Solutions fair that runs from Monday 7th April 2014 to Friday 11th April 2014. Within this framework Dutch highly innovative integrated technological solutions to urban problems are presented: Global Challenges, Smart Solutions!

As a public event, from Monday 7th April 2014 to Friday 11th April 2014, every evening from 7:30 pm to 12:00 am, an animation on the topic of “Smart City” is screened as large-scale projection on the façade of the Hannover Opera House.

The show at the Holland Smart City House includes projects by Dutch cities and regions, technology solutions by Dutch knowledge institutions and business players as well as a series of products by young Dutch start-ups.

The Holland Smart City House stages a live TV program that runs from Monday 7th April 2014 to Thursday 10th April 2014, daily from 10 pm to 5 am. The live TV program offers a platform for the discussion of the presented projects and places them in an international dialogue.
The accompanying live TV program is moderated by the journalists Derk Marseille and Ulrike Nagel and produced by Derk Marseille / fridayatsix and his team.

The animation communicates to a general audience in a fresh, vibrant and generally comprehensive way the highly innovative, creative and pragmatic Dutch approach to develop technology solutions for global challenges. The animation spotlights the “Energy City”, the “Water City”, the “Green City” and the “Participation-City” and addresses in an integrative way the themes of the Metropolitan Solutions fair. The opening is scheduled for Monday 7th April at 7:30 pm.

The Holland Smart City House is curated by Hybrid Space Lab in Berlin (Prof. Frans Vogelaar and Prof. Elizabeth Sikiaridi) in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
The accompanying live TV program is moderated by the journalists Derk Marseille and Ulrike Nagel and produced by Derk Marseille / fridayatsix and his team. The animation is a project of Hybrid Space Lab; the public screening is realized by Ivo ter Wee / Plakativ Media GmbH.
