Chair Sabrina for Driade by Alessandro Mendini and Frans Vogelaar, 1982

The revolution of Italian design.

“Alchimia propagated a counter-reality, another vision for the world. It is a world full of cheerfulness, color, and aesthetics, that is intended to make clear that another reality is conceivable.”
Bröhan Museum

Chair and Two Seater Sabrina for Driade by Alessandro Mendini and Frans Vogelaar, 1982

“In Florence in the 1970s, a group of architects and designers said, ‘Wait a minute, let’s take a look at what’s happening around us.’ That’s how Global Tools came about, which was extremely important. Without this project, Alchimia would not have existed. It all started with Global Tools,” explained Alessandro Guerriero, co-founder of Alchimia, in an interview with Hybrid Space Lab.

“Either we create spiritual objects, or it is better not to create anything at all!”

Soft- and hardware breakthroughs in generative AI (gen AI) are transforming the way content can be created, but more importantly also the fundamental structure of economies and societies at large.

But current generation AI still falls short of human performance in areas such as creativity, reasoning, sensory perception, and other critical skills.
