Technological concept and realization of the digital simulation “HOUSE” for the artist Jan van der Pavert.
The digital simulation was exhibited amongst others at Centraal Museum in Utrecht in 1995, at the “XIX Triennale di Milano” in Milan in 1996, and at the Dutch Architectural Institute (Nai) in Rotterdam, 1997, and won the Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art in 1998.

House
Initially, he became known for sculpture. His early sculptures referred to architecture and resembled parts from buildings, such as windows and doors.
Later, he decided to elaborate his architectural elements in films as well. He used computer animations for this from 1992 onwards.
The introduction of digital design technologies into architecture has opened up incredible possibilities for the discipline, in terms of both the design and fabrication of buildings. RealSpace in QuickTimes proposes that computer-aided design (CAD), the emergence of “smart buildings” and the construction of virtual reality are part of a single technological revolution which has radically re-invented the mandate of architecture in our culture.
The Heineken Prizes are six awards for scientific and artistic achievement established by Alfred Heineken since the 1960s and presented every two years. The prizes are named after Alfred H. Heineken, the former chairman of the board of Heineken N.V. and his father Henry P. Heineken.
Since 1988, a Dr A.H. Heineken Prize for Art (€100,000, of which €50,000 is earmarked for a publication) has also been awarded to a Dutch artist.
